Dr. Cameron Bowman, M.D., FRCSC, is a board-certified plastic surgeon based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Dr. King approaches MTF breast augmentation surgery as a union between science and aesthetics, and the results he achieves are beautiful and natural looking.
Dr. King will discuss with you the differences between silicone and saline breast implants, and help you choose which implants are most appropriate to your goals. Breast condition, body type, skin tone, age, and overall health are all considered when evaluating breast implants.
The breast enlargement procedure begins with an incision made around the areola, beneath the breast, or under the arm. The incision is small and subtle, to help conceal scarring. A customized breast implant is inserted through the incision and positioned, then the incisions are closed and bandaged.
MTF breast enlargement is performed on an outpatient basis, lasting about two hours, under general anesthesia, with an recovery time of about one week. The procedure is typically performed at Davis Duehr Dean Surgery Center in Madison.
Breast augmentation can also be combined with a breast lift.

Minimal Scar Top Surgery

Gynecomastia refers to male breast enlargement, a benign condition that affects a significant number of men and adolescent boys. Many of those affected by Gynecomastia opt for surgery to reduce chest size to masculine proportions and improve male contouring. The surgical approach to Gynecomastia Surgery is very similar to the Keyhole Top Surgery method but allows for more removal of fat and breast tissue.
Based on Gynecomastia Surgery and adapted by Dr. Jacobs for trans men, Minimal Scar Top Surgery involves only small incisions on the side of the chest and part way around the areola to allow access for liposuction and to remove breast tissue. This minimally-invasive procedure leaves nearly invisible scars after healing, and nipple sensation is retained, making it a popular choice for the right patient. Trans men who are small-chested and have good skin elasticity are ideal candidates. Testosterone therapy causes breast tissue to shrink in some trans men, so a length of time on testosterone may increase your suitability to this procedure. Revisions after your initially surgery can further improve results, including areola and/or nipple reduction.
If you are just outside the criteria for being suited to the Minimal Scar procedure, Dr. Jacobs can do a staged procedure that will yield low scarring and similar results.

Keyhole Top Surgery
Dr. Jacobs also offers a type of Keyhole Top Surgery for trans men who have medium sized chests and fairly good skin elasticity. Dr. Jacobs’ Keyhole, or “Peghole”, technique allows him to re-position the nipple at a higher level (more masculine positioning), decrease the size of the areola, and remove excess tissue and skin. With this approach, the nipple retains some sensation.
Double Incision Top Surgery
For trans men with larger chests, Dr. Jacobs offers the popular Double Incision method of Top Surgery. The procedure involves incisions along the inframammary fold—along the base of the chest muscles—and thus results in more visible scarring. However, the technique allows excellent access to remove fat, breast tissue and extra skin, plus relocation of the nipple-areola complex to a more masculine position, making this an excellent approach for larger chested trans men. Double Incision Top Surgery includes free nipple grafts, affecting nipple sensitivity. Dr. Sajan is a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). He is regularly invited to lecture both nationally and internationally by organizations such as the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Sajan’s research has been published in multiple peer reviewed journals such as The Journal of Surgical Research and JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery. In 2011, Dr. Sajan was one of only five physicians in the U.S. to be awarded the prestigious CORE Grant. This helped fund the development of Dr. Sajan’s Advanced Facial Simulator, a model used to teach surgeons cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. It is the only model of its kind in the world.
In addition to his surgical practice and research work, Dr. Sajan is actively involved in a number of humanitarian causes benefiting women and children. Most notably, he is the Founder and Director of United Medical Aid, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing pro-bono surgery to women who are victims of domestic violence.

Financing
Cash, all credit cards, and check are accepted. Medical financing via Care Credit, Alphaeon, and United Medical Credit is also accepted. Dr. Sajan does not accept insurance at this time but is working toward this. He also does not accept Medicare.
