Dr. Cameron Bowman

Dr. Cameron Bowman, M.D., FRCSC, is a board-certified plastic surgeon based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. He completed his surgical residency in 2004 and subsequently became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He then accepted a 2 year fellowship position in Belgium under the mentorship of Professor Stan Monstrey where he undertook training in sex reassignment surgery. Dr. Bowman has co-authored several publications in this field (including Care of the patient undergoing sex reassignment surgery found at the popular Transgender Health Program Library) and is currently the only fellowship-trained surgeon doing this work in Western Canada. Dr. Bowman is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor within the Division of Plastic Surgery at UBC.

For more than five years, Dr. Bowman has championed the right for British Columbia’s transgender population to increase their access to taxpayer-funded surgeries. His lobbying has paid off, and he now has clinic time to perform FTM top surgery and provide post-op care in Vancouver for those who receive funding for surgeries performed at the clinic in Montreal. Dr. Bowman can also perform private pay top surgery, glansplasty, scrotoplasty, breast augmentation and FFS procedures.

Dr. Bowman performs the following SRS procedures:

FTM Surgery

  • Top Surgery: Double incision with nipple grafts, peri-areolar
  • Glansplasty
  • Scrotoplasty

MTF Surgery

  • Breast Augmentation
  • Facial Feminizing Surgery (FFS)
  • Body sculpting

Dr. Bowman follows WPATH standards and surgery letters are required.

For insurance reasons, Dr. Bowman cannot take clients from the U.S., but he can take clients from any other country.
